  1. A/B Split Test: This is an important term that is used in Email Marketing. This term refers to the technique of creating two different sets of emails with 2 different subject lines, 2 different images or 2 different CTAs. This is done to understand which email is performing better than the other one.
  2. Active Subscriber: This is used to refer to the client who has received, opened the email and hasn’t marked the email as spam.
  3. Attachment Open Rate: This refers to the number of email recipients who have opened the attachment sent along with the email. This is calculated by dividing the number of recipients who have opened the email by the number of recipients who have actually opened the attachment. 
  4. Blacklist: This refers to the list of senders that have been blacklisted because of having a bad reputation or being marked as spammers by email recipients.
  5. Bounce Rate: It refers to the number of emails that failed to reach the inboxes of the targeted recipients. 
  6. Call to action: Call to action is the desired action that a marketer wishes a recipient to perform after reading the email. These can be Subscribe Now, Call Now, Sign-Up or Purchase Now buttons.
  7. Click Rate: Click Rate helps a marketer in knowing how many email recipients have clicked on the link given in the email. This is calculated by dividing the number of recipients that have received the email by the number of recipients that have actually clicked on the link.
  8. Newsletter: An Email Newsletter is an email communication in the form of a template that is sent to the existing as well as the potential clients, to inform them and keep them updated about a new product, event, service or scheme. The main agenda behind sending a Newsletter is to keep the customers engaged and informed with a business or a company. An email newsletter is generally emailed to clients on a periodical basis such as weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
  9. Spam Folder: A Spam Folder is a folder in the inbox of the recipient where all those emails, which are believed to be spam, are sent automatically by the email service provider.
  10. Revenue per email: This is the calculation of the amount that has been earned by sending 1 email.
